CeBER at the SAIMM Western Cape branch Minerals Research Showcase 2017: Resourcing the future
What does the future of mining look like? How do we ensure we continue to enjoy the benefits of mining for years to come? CeBER students joined postgraduates from UCT as well as other universities in the Western Cape at the Minerals Research Showcase to share their responses to the present and foreseeable challenges in the mining industry. The Showcase took place at Philippi Village from the 3-4th August 2017. The research presented included technical solutions to improve the recovery of valuable metals from mineral ores, recover value from mining effluent streams and remediate waste streams in order to make them safer for the environment and the people affected by them. Congratulations to all who participated, special mention to Leo Maritz, a Masters student who was the second runner up in the Best Poster Competition.
